Can You Hear It?

In our devotions the other night before bed, I read about God's love being inside of us. Ethan piped up, "Well, I don't know if God's love is inside of us, because when we shake ourselves we can't hear it."

Window Shields

Before nap last week Ethan asked, "Mom can you put up my window shields?" Now everyone in our house calls the blinds, "window shields!"

Move It!

Ethan and Julia were driving around the backyard in Ethan's gator the other afternoon while I was pushing Olivia on the swing. I over heard Ethan say to an imaginary person, "Are you afraid of noise, cuz is that okay if I honk my horn cuz you are in my way."
Seems like a round about way to ask someone to move, but at least he was polite....well, sort of anyway.

Tea Time

Ethan and Livi brought their toy tea set in the bath with them the other night. It's fun practice with pouring with no worries about spilling! Before Ethan would pour me a cup of "tea" he would say, "Would you delight some tea?" in his best proper voice. This is was of those posts that Ethan will be super embarrassed about when he is older. Sorry, Ethan!

Orekspouts!

Ethan was making bunches of these little designs last week. When I asked him about them, he said, "They're orekspouts. They're a kind of bug in my imagination."

Why Are Your Cheeks So Red?

Ethan's cheeks have been really red lately, and I can't figure out why. I know that some people seem to always have red cheeks, but this has never been an issue for Ethan. The worried mom in me is obsessing about it. Last night, I asked him, "Do they hurt?" He said, "No." I asked, "Well, then why are they so red?" He responded, "Maybe I'm turning into a real live superhero!" This actually wasn't his first creative response to my question, "Why are your cheek so red?" Earlier in the day he responded, "Maybe I'm just turning into a giant strawberry." At least he has a sense of humor about the whole situation!

Smooth Talker
