I don't quite remember how it got brought up, but the other day while we were eating, Ethan said, "Man-ay." He said it a few more times in conversation, and I really wasn't getting it, so I looked over at Josh. He smiled and said, "You know, the singular form of mayonnaise."
Oh, of course! How could I have miss that!?

Roast
I was putting a roast and veggies in the crock pot Monday morning, and Ethan asked me what I was making. I told him it was a roast. (It's actually been quite a while since I've made a roast.) He said, "Oh, does it have marshmallows in it?!"
I chuckled and said, "No." But later it dawned on me that he was probably asking about the marshmallows, because we roasted a lot of marshmallows last summer!

Cool Socks!
I had on some brightly colored socks the other day, and Ethan asked, "Mom, why do you have cool socks?"
I responded, "Cuz I'm cool!"
Ethan replied, "No, you're not. You're pretty, not cool. Mom's aren't cool. Take off those socks right now!"
I chuckled a bit, but I didn't take off my socks. Ethan didn't seem to mind, and we went about our normal routine. Later when Josh came home, I told him the story. Ethan overheard us talking, and said to Josh, "Did you hear what I said to Mom?"
Josh said, "Yes, I did."
Ethan said, "Do you want to tell me good job?"
I responded, "Cuz I'm cool!"

Yee-Haw!
When Ethan gets excited, he usually shouts, Woo-Hoo! I told Ethan we were going to the bakery this morning, and he said, "Yee-Haw!........That's my new Woo-Hoo!"

Ethan's Pictures!
You can tell a lot about a person by the pictures they take....what interests them, what they are proud of, what they think is beautiful, and what they want to remember! Well, Ethan just got his very own digital camera for Christmas, and I just LOVE looking at all the pictures he takes! I will try to post a few every once in a while, because they are just too funny!

When I Get Big!
After pulling away from the bank drive-through the other day, Ethan asked, "Mom, who was that lady?"
I told him, "She's the bank teller."
"Oh, what does she do?"
"She works at the bank."
"Oh, does anyone else work at the bank?"
"Yes. Lots of people work at banks."
"Can boys work at banks."
"Yes. There are boys that work at banks."
"Oh, do you think I can be a bank teller when I get big."
"You sure can! You can be anything you want to be when you grow up!"
"I'm gonna be a bank teller! Or maybe a scientist! A scientist for dinosaurs!"
"That would be so cool!"
This is the first time that Ethan has talked about what he wants to be when he grows up. I'm not quite sure what it was about that bank teller that brought this all on, but it was definitely a conversation worth recording!

Matching is for Girls!
This morning, as I was helping Ethan pick out a sweatshirt, I said, "How about this one. It matches."
He responded, "I don't want to match. Matching's not cool. It's fancy, and I don't want to be fancy. Fancy is for girls."
