Before supper the other night, Ethan said, "Mom, do we have any hotdogs?"
I replied, "No."
Ethan said, "But can you make some hotdogs? Do we have some ingredients?"
Sorry Ethan. I'd rather not know what it takes to make a hotdog!

Family Picture?
Yesterday, Ethan's teacher told me that they were supposed to draw a picture of their family for their journal assignment. Ethan didn't want to draw me, even after some encouragement from his teacher. He told her that he was drawing everyone playing Playstation and Mommy doesn't play that with them. (He's right. Sometimes I watch, but usually I let that be their Daddy bonding time while I get things done around the house.) I was wondering what Ethan would have to say about it, so later that day, I asked him why he didn't include me in the family picture. He responded, "Because you were gone......You weren't dead. You were just on vacation or something."
Thanks for clearing that up, Buddy!

My Sweet Boy!
While getting Ethan out of the shower the other day, he said, "I dry myself now, Mom, cuz I'm big."
I said, "Do you want me to help you a little bit?"
He responded, "No, I don't need any help."
I love that Ethan is becoming a smart, independant, young man. But each time he learns how to do something on his own, I feel like a lose a small part of him. So I said to him, "Why do you have to keep growing up?"
He said, "Well, you can still do some things for me when I'm a grown up."
"Like what?"
"Like hug me."
What a sweetheart! I love him so much!
